Introducing new measures and ways of working in the new world is affecting each market sector in different ways. Social distancing presents greater challenges for some more than others depending on the environment and type of activity.
However, all operators who provide hospitality regardless of the environment and activity share one thing in common and that is how to deliver food and beverage in the most efficient, safe and customer friendly way.
This is where Vine, Haven Systems new Self Order app comes into its own. Any sports and leisure club can offer Vine to its members and guests. Users scan the unique QR code on their mobile device to view the food and beverage menu. Products are categorised for ease of use and display allergens and food labels as determined by the Food Standards Agency.
Dish modifiers and add on options are selected and added to the order basket using the clean and crisp interface that is optimised to run perfectly on all types of modern smart phones. At this point the opportunity to ‘upsell’ no longer depends on a member of staff prompting the guest as the menu and options are in the hands of the consumer.
For golfers approaching the club house, perhaps on the 18th tee or fairway, having the opportunity to order ahead, choose a refreshing drink or perhaps a 3 course meal to be served to their selected table or collected during a specific time slot is surely tempting. The same applies for any sport or leisure environment where members and guests can pre-order in advance and pay using Vine.

The app is fully integrated with Haven Systems EPOS. Vine is completely unique in offering HavenPAY whereby members ‘cashless’ accounts are included as a payment method as an option alongside standard credit/debit card payments with features such as face recognition used where enabled.
Behind the scenes, Vine Control includes the option to set up session schedules and time slots to manage the flow of sales. Order notifications are displayed at the kitchen or bar and an email order confirmation is sent to the customer. Completed orders are checked as delivered.
Vine is certainly customer friendly, creates new efficiencies and may be used to support social distancing measures for the benefit of both staff and customers.
